In a compound a crew can work on multiple homes at once without loss of time in travel for themselves or sub-trades. The use of excess product from one job could now be used in the next without the expense of hauling, saving the company and the buyer money.
Working on multiple jobs in one yard also saving time in construction.
While the RTM is being built, the customer can be getting the basement constructed at the same time.
This overlap of work can save weeks in the duration of the total job.
Time is money. This means less high interest paid by the buyer on construction loans, etc.
